This is going to be one fabulous weekend of laughter, food and fun at The Lodge at Kauri Cliffs! Award-winning Australian chef, author, and TV personality (My Kitchen Rules) Pete Evans joins with his mate and chef/partner in new Melbourne restaurant Little Hunter, Gavin Baker for a special dinner at The Lodge of Kauri Cliffs, along with one of the country's top wineries, Neudorf Vineyards.
Pete Evans' relaxed, elegant cooking style, along with his blue eyes, healthy tan and charming personality has made him one of TV's favourite chefs! The My Kitchen Rules star has many loyal fans. His philosophy: Cook with Love + Laughter!
Pete is coming to The Lodge at Kauri Cliffs with Chef Gavin Baker. A native of North Carolina who amalgamated his southern heritage with an illustrious stint as sous chef under Heston Blumenthal at The Fat Duck, Gavin Baker has some kitchen pedigree! The two met on the ski slopes of Utah and formed an instant bond, opening a new restaurant next month, Little Hunter, in Melbourne 's Collins Street (in the iconic Georges building)! The pair will be showcasing a fabulous five course dinner of Little Hunter favourites, drawing inspiration from the land, the farmer, and the best cattle bred in Australia to blend contemporary dining with high quality produce.
The signature dinner prepared by Pete Evans and Gavin Baker at The Lodge at Kauri Cliffs will be skillfully matched with Neudorf Vineyard wines from New Zealand's Nelson region. Highly regarded Neudorf winery is a fitting match to the sublime menu Pete + Gavin promise, and it is a great pleasure to have Neudorf's Tim and Judy Finn to present the wines throughout the evening.
For those who arrive Friday, the weekend will kick off on Friday night with a welcome reception celebrating and welcoming Pete Evans + Gavin Baker to Kauri Cliffs. On Saturday morning, those guests who have stayed Friday night will have the opportunity to learn from the TV chef and master, as Pete and Gavin will conduct a one-hour cooking demonstration where they will chat to guests informally and impart some culinary secrets, and their infectious love of food and life. This will be a special treat and a chance to get to know Pete and Gavin while enjoying a fantastic cooking experience with them.
Saturday afternoon will provide ample time to relax and enjoy the Kauri Cliffs property, partaking in the choice of golf or a 50-minute massage before the main event
The Saturday evening dinner will begin with a pre-dinner tasting of a range of Neudorf wines before settling in for a fabulous dinner, prepared and hosted by the charming Pete Evans and Chef Gavin Baker.

Tariff for this event is as follows:
Saturday 13th April at the special event rate of NZ$800.00 + 15% GST per person per night based on double or twin occupancy*
*Tariff includes accommodation in a suite with pre-dinner drinks and canapés, dinner by Pete Evans + Gavin Baker on Saturday night which will be matched with Neudorf wines, full breakfast, complimentary mini-bar (excludes liquor and wine) and use of lodge facilities including your choice of either a day of unlimited green fees OR a 50 minute massage per person during your stay.
With the welcome drinks on Friday evening April 12th and a special cooking demonstration planned for Saturday morning with Pete + Gavin, we would encourage guests to take advantage of this opportunity to extend their reservation to include the Friday evening and enjoy the whole weekend at Kauri Cliffs.
